Dear Parents,
It’s that time of year and as you all know our recital
is scheduled for May l7 and 18th of 2008! (There are two shows for each
day, 1:30 & & 7:00pm, four shows total.) We have already picked
music and costumes for each class and we will begin learning our dances
after the Christmas break.
Marlene, Jessica, and I spend a lot of time putting
together our choreography, coordinating costumes, and designing formations
for the show so it is important to us and the other students/parents that
we all work together. It is not fair to back out a month before
performance time when we had worked since January on piecing this
together.
This year we have decided to combine some classes for
sake of cutting down on show time and filling the stage with dancers for
each performance. Because most young students choose to perform for one
day, we will keep each show balanced with a certain number of dancers
allowed to perform for each show. Starting November 26th there will be a
“first-come-first-serve” sheet located outside the studio
rooms that you must sign in order to secure a spot for Saturday, Sunday,
and/or both performances. The sheets will already be numbered for the
amount allowed per show — no exceptions! (The sooner you sign up, the
better.) This policy is only for those students ages 6 and
under.
Students ages 7 and older will be expected to perform in
all shows. In order to save on any confusion, there will also be a sheet
located in the studio entry way (only for ages 7 and above) that you
must initial to confirm this. If you will be missing any
of the four performances, please indicate which ones after your
name so we can make note of this during formation assignments. As
parents, you are very busy so please be sure to do this so we do not have
to track you down.
All of this must be completed by December l4th!!!
Please mark your calendars for the recital dates and times and to be sure
there are no conflicts. We are allowing plenty of time in advance to avoid
scheduling conflicts.
