Elizabeth Swingle

Elizabeth began her training at Spotlight Dance Studio beginning in 1996 and continued through high school studying at the Short Dance Studio in New Richmond, Wisconsin. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in May 2011, with a BA in Dance.

While at UWSP, Elizabeth performed in three Afterimages presentations and three Danstage productions, most recently in 2011. She has also performed in Arts Bash and Dansculpercussion: 'As It Happens', and participated in the nationally recognized American College Dance Festival of Arts in both 2008 and 2011. Outside of the University she has performed at the Phipps Center for the Arts in Hudson, WI, and at the Stevens Point Co-op Food Fair.

In 2008 Elizabeth made her choreographic debut in Afterimages with her 2008 work 'Justly Judge the Beauty of the Fields'. She continued to choreograph throughout her time at UWSP, her university work culminating with 'The Humans Are Dead' which was selected to participate at the ACDFA in 2011.

Elizabeth has participated in the Arts for Humanity to study abroad in Thailand (Winter 2008-2009) where she had the opportunity to teach dance to underpriviledged children. She received the Anne Schierl Outstanding Freshman in Dance award in 2008. We are excited to have Elizabeth on our faculty!
